James 3:6, And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. KJV
The "tongue" here is described as a "fire, a world of iniquity" continuing the inspired writer says "it defiles the whole body and sets on fire the course of nature" and finally "it is set on fire of hell." This enemy of ours is not one from outside, but rather from our inside, "... tongue is among our members," it's inside of us.
The tongue is revealed a source of division among Believers in Christ How many is the time that our "words" damage those around us, destroy relationships within families as well as our Church. How much better it is to yield our tongue to the Holy Spirit's control and use our words to glorify God.
Let us pray, "Father forgive us for speaking harsh words and help us to use wise words to build up and encourage."
To bridle your tongue, give God the reigns to your heart.
"God said to my heart,'in 2013 I will do things that have never been seen!'"
